The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched the FASTag-based Annual Pass for non-commercial private vehicles, aimed at making toll payments simpler and travel more seamless across national highways. Priced at Rs 3,000, the pass is now available for purchase and activation via both mobile app as well as NHAI's official website. NHAI has confirmed the availability of the Annual Pass via a post on social media platform X. The post also includes a video that demonstrates how one can buy the FasTag Annual Pass.

FasTag Annual Pass: Benefits

The pass offers a validity of one year or up to 200 toll plaza crossings—whichever is reached first—from the date of activation. NHAI confirmed that the benefit applies across all national highways in India equipped with FASTag toll systems. Once activated, users can travel without the need for frequent wallet top-ups for toll payments until the limit is reached.

The key advantage of the Annual Pass is the convenience it offers to frequent travellers. It eliminates the need to recharge the FASTag account multiple times during the year, ensuring uninterrupted passage at toll plazas. The fixed cost also allows users to plan their annual travel budget for highway toll expenses in advance. By reducing the number of recharge transactions, NHAI expects the pass to contribute to faster toll operations and less congestion.

Availability and activation
The FASTag Annual Pass can be purchased through the Rajmargyatra mobile app or the NHAI website. The app is available for download from the Google Play Store for Android users and the Apple App Store for iOS users. To activate the pass, users must log in to their account, select the Annual Pass option, complete the ₹3,000 payment, and confirm activation. The validity period starts from the activation date.

Eligibility
The scheme is available exclusively for non-commercial private vehicles with an active FASTag. Commercial vehicles, heavy goods carriers, and other categories are not eligible for this pass.

The Annual Pass is part of NHAI’s broader effort to improve digital toll collection systems. The Rajmargyatra app also provides services such as toll rate lookups, route planning, complaint registration, and live traffic updates, helping drivers plan trips more effectively.
