Google has rolled out new features — or as it calls ‘Pixel drops’ — for Pixel devices. Pixel Drop brings AI-powered helpfulness expansions, camera improvements, new safety features and more to Pixel phones, tablets and watches. Here are some of the new features coming to Pixel devices:
Gemini in Pixel screenshots
This is a rather very useful features. Gemini can now help users find something they might have saved as a screenshot. All you have to do is long press power and ask Gemini to “find the brand of sneakers I saved in Screenshots” and Gemini will take you to the screenshot you were looking for.
Erase those distracting sounds
Another interesting feature is Audio Magic Eraser, which reduces distracting sounds in your videos. It could be noisy crowds or any wind noise, it can be reduced by the Audio Magic Eraser. The feature also lets you turn specific sounds up or down, and separate voices to independently change their volumes, making the audio in your videos crystal clear. This feature is now available on Pixel 8 and newer phones.
New camera features
Pixel users can can get any waterproof case to capture under-the-water moments, like snorkeling or swimming, with improved underwater photography and video recording. Google said that now the colours underwater look richer and more accurate. Also, users will soon be able to access the astrophotography feature in the Night Sight slider.
Pollen tracker, humidity levels and more
Google has also updated the Pixel Weather app with a pollen tracker. Users can check current pollen index levels, pollen types and forecasts before stepping outside. Do keep in mind that the feature is currently limited in the UK, France, Germany and Italy. The new Pixel Weather App is expanding to more Pixel phones, bringing helpful features like AQI and humidity levels to more devices, said Google.
