Dipika Kakar has been courageously documenting her journey with stage two liver cancer, and in her latest update, she shared another difficult phase of recovery. The actress revealed that while her medical reports show improvement, she has been struggling with severe hair fall, a side effect of her ongoing treatment.

In a vlog, Dipika explained that her blood reports had recently come back normal, which was encouraging, but the sight of losing hair in clumps has been emotionally taxing. “I mentioned that the blood report has come back normal. However, what’s affecting me at the moment is the hair loss I’ve been facing as a side effect. Every time I see my hair fall in huge numbers after a wash, I get shocked,” she admitted.

The update also gave fans a glimpse of her personal life. Her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim, was seen resting due to an illness, while their son Ruhaan sweetly played doctor, pretending to give him injections. Shoaib reassured viewers that Dipika’s health is improving slowly and thanked fans for their constant support and prayers during this phase.

Dipika’s health battle began earlier this year when persistent stomach pain led her to undergo multiple medical tests. In May 2025, doctors discovered a malignant tumour in the left lobe of her liver, the size of a tennis ball. The diagnosis confirmed stage two liver cancer, and she was told the tumour was aggressive and poorly differentiated.

In June, Dipika underwent a successful surgery to remove the tumour. Though she was declared tumour-free, her doctors advised continuing targeted oral therapy to lower the risk of recurrence. Unlike traditional chemotherapy, this treatment is less aggressive but comes with its own side effects, including ulcers and now hair loss.
