Foldable smartphones and tablets have been in the news for the last few years, and popular Android smartphone manufacturers like Samsung and Motorola have released multiple foldable devices in this period. However, Apple has yet to catch on to the trend and release its first foldable device in the market.

However, we may soon see the first foldable devices from Apple. According to a new investor note seen by 9to5Mac, Apple will begin mass production of a 20.3-inch foldable MacBook-iPad hybrid device in late 2025. The same report also suggests that we could see a foldable iPhone in late 2026.

The investor note is authored by Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu and reveals Apple's roadmap for their foldable device. It also reveals that these devices will be part of Apple’s high-end product line.

Previously, market analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also reported that Apple is working on a massive 20.3-inch foldable MacBook that could launch in 2027. Ross Young also affirmed this claim stating that a 20-inch foldable hybrid device might be before 2027.

Additionally, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman had also revealed that Apple is exploring a unique dual-screen foldable that could combine iPad and MacBook functionalities. Hence, this could be exciting coming years for Apple, with lots of foldable products in the making.

In the meantime, Apple is set to host the ‘Let Loose’ event on May 7, where it is expected to showcase a range of new iPads and accessories. The new iPad Pro models are expected to headline the marquee event.
