Social deduction-cum-murder mystery game Among Us is getting a TV show!  And guess who are going to be the crewmates? Actors from The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, Seinfeld, Star Wars Jedi series games, Marvel Studio’s WandaVision, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and other popular film, video game and TV franchises.

If you are into mobile gaming, many of you would remember Among Us as the game that saw crazy popularity during the coronavirus pandemic. Developed by US-based InnerSloth studio, Among Us suddenly became all the rage in the mobile gaming world during the Covid pandemic after a Twitch streamer with 2.8 billion followers began to play it.

The Among Us TV show was announced by Innersloth’s CEO and co-founder Forest Willard and Communications Director Victoria Tran during the Summer Game Fest 2024. Innersloth has joined hands with CBS Studios for the Among Us TV series.

Innersloth and CBS Studios also gave a sneak peek into the TV show during the Summer Game Fest.

Beating PUBG Mobile, Among Us had become the most downloaded mobile game in Q3 2020 and reigned supreme on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store back then.

Since Among Us is a free-to-play multiplayer game and allows 4-10 players, it offered a unique opportunity for people to socialise online during the Coronavirus waves, while having some fun too. Among Us wasn’t graphic-intensive either, which allowed people with budget and mid-range smartphones to join in and play easily.
