Apple is gearing up to release iOS 18.2, one of its most significant updates of its latest software versions. iOS 18.2 is set to bring a host of new features and AI-powered innovations for iPhone users.

When is iOS 18.2 expected to roll out?

As per the rumour mills, iOS 18.2 is expected to roll out on December 9. What gives it further credence is the fact that Apple has already rolled out the RC or Releasing Candidate version to public beta testers.

What models will get Apple Intelligence features?

The update will bring Apple Intelligence features to eligible iPhone models, including the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Which Apple Intelligence features are expected?

iOS 18.2  will bring several Apple Intelligence features designed to enhance user experience. Among the standout features are:

Genmoji

This feature allows users to create personalised emojis using AI, enhancing communication on the platform.

Image Playground

Users can generate custom images by providing descriptive prompts, turning text into visual art.

ChatGPT Integration in Siri

Siri will now incorporate ChatGPT, enabling users to ask more complex questions and receive sophisticated answers.

Visual Intelligence

Exclusive to the iPhone 16 series, this feature uses the Camera Control button to provide real-time information about the surroundings.

Other iOS 18.2 features

In addition to the AI enhancements, iOS 18.2 brings several other notable improvements. The Mail app will feature a new categorisation system, sorting emails into Primary, Transactions, Updates, and Promotions.

The iPhone 16 series will receive a two-stage shutter, allowing users to lock focus and exposure with a light touch.

Furthermore, users will now be able to share the location of a misplaced AirTag by generating a link. The Photos app will include new features like frame scrubbing in videos.
