Apple is gearing up to introduce iOS 19, its next major software update, for iPhones in the coming weeks, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet. The big reveal will take place on June 9, 2025, at the WWDC 2025, and iPhone users can expect the first developer beta drop to happen right after the event. The public rollout, as usual, should coincide with the launch of the iPhone 17 lineup, which is expected to happen in September.
iOS 19: Expected features
iOS 19 is expected to get a major visual makeover, as Apple is tipped to take inspiration from its native visionOS interface. This means that the operating system will likely get translucent menus, floating tab bars, rounded icons, and translucent buttons. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this could be the biggest design shift since iOS 7.
Moreover, Siri is also expected to receive a big upgrade in iOS 19, as with the help of Apple Intelligence, it is tipped to offer smarter suggestions. The Health app will also likely see a major AI boost, as a new personal coaching system could be introduced, which offers fitness tips, nutrition tracking, and expert video guidance.
Apple is also set to bring end-to-end encryption to RCS messages, making cross-platform conversations more secure. Additionally, with iOS 19, we can expect real-time language translation, which, with the help of your iPhone, will be able to listen to a conversation in another language and translate it instantly in real time to users through AirPods.
