Virat Kohli was engaged in constant battles with the fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Day 2 of the fourth Test. The outrage is mostly due to his antics on the opening day, when he got into a fiery exchange with 19-year-old debutant Sam Konstas on the opening day of the match. Kohli then was involved in a shoulder dash with the youngster, which also led to a penalty by the match referee.
However, it seems that the crowd is not letting go off the incident, leading to hostile behaviour from the spectators assembled at the MCG. It all started in the opening session when India struggled to make inroads and Kohli was fielding near the boundary ropes. The spectators constantly booed Kohli, to which the Indian also gave a response.
However, things took an uglier turn towards the close of play on Day 2 when Kohli was dismissed after engaging in a promising 102-run stand with Yashasvi Jaiswal. The latter had just departed following a mix-up with the senior pro and losing his wicket on 82; and an over later Kohli got out caught-behind for 36 while trying to poke a delivery outside off-stump by Scott Boland, an area the star batter has been struggling with.

Kohli, who was already upset with himself for repeating the same mistake, failed to control his emotions while walking down the tunnel towards the dressing room. A video has gone viral on social media, where Kohli can be seen walking back from the tunnel and passing angry stares at a section of fans, who were booing the batter on his way to the dressing room.
Kohli was eventually walked down the tunnel by a security officer present nearby as a support staff from the Indian team was seen patting his back.
The twin blows once again shifted the momentum into Australia's favour. Moments later the hosts removed night watchman Akash Deep from the middle on 0, which reduced India to 159 for 5. Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja then saw off the final moments of play on Day 2 and took India to 164/5 at Stumps as the visitors trail by another 310 runs at the MCG.
