Shubman Gill's father was caught off-guard by a fan, who surprised him by his playful query. In a video doing rounds on social media, a fan can be heard asking Lakwinder Singh, Gill's father, "Uncle ji, Gill bhai ki shadi kab karwa rahe ho? (uncle, when are you getting Shubman Gill married)".
Although the audio was unclear, his response to the query was: "Usko pata hai mujhe kya pata hai? (He knows, how would I know)".
The exchange didn't stop there as the fan was quick to remark: "Sara madam se karwa rahe ho ya nahi? (Will it be Sara Tendulkar)".
The video is reportedly from Day 1 of the ongoing Test between India and South Africa at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
