Rohit Sharma plucks one-handed stunner, Mohammed Siraj joins the party

India skipper Rohit Sharma produced a brilliant fielding effort as play finally resumed on Day 4 of the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur after two days of washout. The skipper fielding at covers plucked a brilliant one-handed catch, leaving everyone around him stunned, including Bangladesh batter Litton Das, who was dismissed as a result of it.

The incident took place in the 50th over bowled by Mohammed Siraj. The pacer bowled a length delivery outside off and despite no need to play any attacking shots, Litton went for a drive. The ball didn't get much elevation but it could have easily sailed over the fielder, in this case Rohit, but the Indian skipper showed great athleticism. Rohit timed his leap perfectly and grabbed the ball on the jump, which brought an end to Litton's stay in the middle for 13(30).

Shubman Gill, who was fielding inside the 30-yard-circle, had an animated reaction as he placed both of his hands on his head. Meanwhile, Litton stood for a while in disbelief before coming to terms with his dismissal.

Six overs later Siraj too grabbed a stunning catch, showcasing how the standards of Team India's fielding has raised. Siraj's catch got India the wicket of Shakib Al Hasan, who was dismissed for 9(17) off R Ashwin's bowling.

Shakib had driven Ashwin for a boundary in the previous delivery and attempted a similar shot in the next but failed to control his shot this time. The ball ballooned up in the air which was taken by Siraj at mid-off while running backwards.

Meanwhile for the first time fans witnessed a full session of play in the Test as Bangladesh reached 205/6 at Lunch. Mominul Haque slammed a ton and is batting at 102(176) and is joined by Mehidy Hasan Miraz (6) at the other end.

After three days of rain which allowed only 35 overs in the second Test between India and Bangladesh, the fourth day brought a bit of a respite. The play started on time with bright sunlight at the Green Park Stadium and 98 overs are expected to be bowled to make up for the loss of play. Bangladesh resumed the proceedings from 107/3, which they had accumulated till the second session of the opening day, when bad weather forced early Stumps.
