Jasprit Bumrah has been India's best bowler at the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy and he once again rose to the occasion on Day 4 of the Melbourne Test. Bumrah started the day by winning the battle against 19-year-old debutant Sam Konstas and in the second session he inflicted three quick blows to hand India the momentum.
It started with Mohammed Siraj getting rid of Steve Smith for 13. An over later Bumrah joined the party and removed Travis Head for 1, and four balls after he got rid of Mitchell Marsh for 0. The party didn't stop there as Bumrah cleaned up Alex Carey for 2 in his next over.
The wicket of Head, who has been India's biggest nemesis in recent times, saw the pacer also scale the 200 wickets milestone in Test cricket. What was even more remarkable was Bumrah's bowling average. The Indian achieved the feat with an average of 19.5 in Tests, placing him above some of the bowling legends - Malcolm Marshall (20.9), Joel Garner (21.0), and Curtly Ambrose (21.0). In fact, Bumrah is the first bowler to claim 200 wickets in Tests while maintaining an average of under 20.

Burmrah also achieved multiple records in the process. He joined Ravindra Jadeja as the second-fastest Indian to reach 200 wickets in the traditional format of the game. Both the players achieved the feat in their 44th Test, while Ravichandran Ashwin, who is the quickest, did it in his 37th Test. If we take a look at the overall list, Ashwin is ranked third behind Pakistan's Yasir Shah (33 Tests) and Australia's Clarrie Grimmett (36 Tests).

Meanwhile, Bumrah became the 12th Indian bowler to complete the milestone in the format.
The pacer had earlier scalped four wickets in the first innings, which saw Australia pile a mammoth 474 on the board. He is currently the leading wicket-taker of the series and has registered 29 scalps from four outings so far, which include three 4-fers, and two 5-fers.
