IPL 2025 Purple Cap and Orange Cap Holders List: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season is fully underway. The fight for Orange and Purple cap will continue to get more intense with everyday passing by. The Purple Cap is won by the highest wicket-taker at the end of the season, whereas the Orange Cap is awarded to the highest run-scorer of the tournament.
As the IPL 2025 season unfolds, the race for the Purple Cap adds another layer of excitement to the title battle. Currently, CSK's Noor Ahmad leads the wicket-taking charts with nine dismissals in three matches.

Bravo, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Harshal Patel have each won the Purple Cap twice. Bhuvneshwar remains the only player to win it in consecutive seasons (2016, 2017). Only three players—Tanvir (2008), RP Singh (2009), and Bhuvneshwar (2016)—have won both the Purple Cap and the IPL title in the same year.
Indian bowlers have dominated the honor, winning it nine times in 17 completed seasons, with RP Singh being the first Indian recipient in 2009 for Deccan Chargers.

Coming to the Orange Cap, Nicholas Pooran is donning the prestigious hat with 201 runs in 4 matches so far with a sensational strike-rate of 218.47. GT batter Sai Sudharsan is second in the leaderboard with 186 runs with an average of 62 so far.

Kohli’s 973-run campaign in IPL 2016 remains the highest in a single season, with Shubman Gill (890 in 2023) coming closest. Gayle is the only player to win consecutive Orange Caps (2011, 2012), while Warner holds the record with three wins (2015, 2017, 2019). Kohli joined the multiple-winner club after reclaiming the cap in 2024 with 741 runs.
Only Robin Uthappa (2014) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (2021) have won both the Orange Cap and the IPL title in the same year. Indians have won the honor seven times, with Sachin Tendulkar becoming the first in 2010.
