IPL 2025 auction Day 1: Rishabh Pant shatters record, Venkatesh Iyer earns big - full list of players sold with price

IPL 2025 Auction Players: Arshdeep Singh kicked-off the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction in Jeddah on Sunday and triggered an intense bidding war, which saw six franchises get involved. However, just when it felt that India's T20 specialist was going to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who made the last bid for Rs 15.75 crore, Punjab Kings (PBKS) retained the pacer by  exercising the RTM option and splurged Rs 18 crore.

The scene got more intense as Shreyas Iyer, IPL-winning captain, and Rishabh Pant's names were called out. Iyer was the first between the two and he triggered even a greater war among the franchise before getting acquired by PBKS for Rs 26.75 crore. Pant, on the other hand, created history, although he was not very far from Iyer in terms of money. The southpaw was acquired by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for Rs 27 crore, making him the most expensive player in the league's history.

Yuzvendra Chahal on expected lines also witnessed a bidding war, which started between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The spinner, who is the leading wicket-taker in IPL, was eventually acquired by Punjab for Rs 18 crore. Meanwhile, KL Rahul failed to attract bidders and had to settle for Rs 14 crore, which was the final bid from Delhi Capitals (DC).

CSK went all out to acquire the services of R Ashwin and engaged in a bidding tussle with Rajasthan. The five-time IPL champions eventually secured the deal for Rs 9.75 crore. Venkatesh Iyer was acquired by KKR for a whopping amount of Rs 23.75 crore, which was after engaging in an intense bidding war with RCB.
