Virat Kohli breathed a sigh of relief when he refrained from sending the first ball sailing over the boundary in the over that saw Royal Challengers Bengaluru clinch a resounding victory over Gujarat Titans by 9 wickets.
RCB successfully chased down their 201-run target with four overs to spare. Will Jacks stole the show with an unbeaten century off just 41 balls, while Kohli maintained his excellent form with a stellar unbeaten 70-run innings.
This triumph marked RCB's second consecutive win of the season, igniting a wave of excitement in their dressing room. Kohli's post-match chat with Jacks, captured on camera, revealed insights into their strategy."You hit the next fifty in just 10 balls, going from 31 to 50 and then 41 to 100. The second half of your innings was like taking a leisurely day on the golf course," Kohli remarked in a video shared by RCB.

Kohli admitted to feeling frustrated when he missed the opportunity to launch the first ball for a six but found solace when he witnessed Jacks standing at 94* with just 1 run needed, ultimately securing victory with a boundary.
"I was annoyed when I couldn't clear the ropes on the first ball, but seeing Will Jacks on 94* with just 1 run to go, I thought, 'Thank god I didn't hit that six,'" he confessed.
He also unveiled the strategy behind Jacks' onslaught of big hits in the 16th over, sealing the deal for RCB.
"He called for two, and when he glanced back, I signaled for three. That's when he decided he had to clear the boundary with every ball because I wasn't up for running anymore. That was our secret," Kohli revealed.
Meanwhile, Kohli's unbeaten 70 off 44 balls showcased a more aggressive approach, particularly employing the sweep shot against spinners to assert dominance before Jacks' explosive innings guided RCB to victory. Jacks' stunning performance in the final over, smashing four sixes and four fours off Rashid Khan, hastened the end of the match, with the Englishman blasting a total of 10 sixes in his remarkable display.
