Samay Raina is a fan favourite considering the response he generated online for his popular YouTube show India's Got Latent. However, the show and the comedian landed in trouble after controversial remarks by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, who appeared as a panelist in one of the episode. Allahbadia then passed an inappropriate comment directed at a contestant's parents, which didn't sit well with the netizens. The clip of the moment spread like wildfire on social media, triggering backlash and legal proceedings after FIRs on Allahbadia, Raina, and co-panelist Apoorva Mukhija (influencer and actress) and Ashish Chanchlani (content creator). The show was eventually taken down from the platform.

While it did receive a significant amount of backlash, Team India's premier all-rounder Hardik Pandya feels otherwise. In a reel shared by Raina on Instagram, Pandya reflected his thoughts on the show. "Oh, I loved it bro," Pandya can be heard saying in the reel, which also featured Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah among other cricketers. Meanwhile, Vidit Gujrathi - an Indian chess player - who has also been a panelist in one of the episodes of the show - is also part of the video.

The video mostly revolves around popular Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, who is seen engaged in a game of chess against the comedian. The actor also seems to have defeated Raina as claimed in the video, with the caption reading: "Aamir Khan beat me (in chess)".

Ashwin is known to have an avid interest in chess and similarly Raina too is fond of the sport.

Meanwhile, as per latest development the show is back on YouTube after a four-month hiatus. However, it is not available on Raina’s main channel but on a new one titled India’s Got Latent Clips. The buzz can be seen as the channel has steadily generated 514K subscribers and has 523 videos available.
