The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reported to have increased the price of sponsoring the cricket team, following the exit of Dream11. As reported by Cricbuzz, the new price is stated to be reserved at Rs 3.5 crore for bilateral matches and around Rs 1.5 crore for the ICC and ACC competitions.

The report added that the numbers, which are mentioned above, are slightly higher than the previous price, which were Rs 3.17 crore for bilateral events and Rs 1.12 crore for multilateral matches. It mentioned that BCCI is targeting a minimum upgrade of 10 percent in bilateral events and approximately three percent for multi-team events.

The difference between the amount is mostly due to brand visibility, which is printed on the front during bilateral matches and limited to sleeves in ICC and ACC events.

The report further mentioned that BCCI is searching for sponsorship deals for the next three years, during which the Indian cricket team are scheduled to play 130 matches. This includes the T20 World Cup in 2026 and ODI World Cup in 2027. Also based on the price revision, the cricket board is expected to earn over Rs 400 crores.

BCCI had released a media advisory announcing "Invitation for Expression of Interest for National Team Lead Sponsor Rights" earlier this week. As per the advisory online money gaming, betting or gambling, crypto and tobacco brands are prohibited from participating in the bid. In addition, athleisure and sportswear manufacturers, banking, financial companies, non-alcoholic cold beverages, fans, mixer grinders, safety locks and insurance companies also are not eligible and were listed under the "Blocked Brand Categories".

The fresh development comes after the central government's new Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, which prohibits operations of real-money gaming companies in the country.
