Poonch’s Behramgala Temple Yagya 2025: Devotees from All Faiths Unite in Spiritual Harmony

Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir: In a heartwarming display of unity and spiritual togetherness, devotees from Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, and Christian communities came together on Monday to participate in a sacred Yagya held at the Behramgala Temple in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. The event marked the second such Yagya of 2025, highlighting the region’s deep-rooted tradition of religious harmony and interfaith respect.

Khetrapal Sharma, President of the Sanatani Dharma Sabha, emphasized the symbolic importance of this gathering, calling it a celebration of Poonch's brotherhood and cultural unity. Remarkably, Behramgala itself doesn’t house a single Hindu family, yet festivals and temple events here receive unwavering support from all religious communities and the Indian Army alike.

“This is a matter of great joy for all of us,” Sharma said. “The Behramgala Temple holds two major bhandaras annually — one in January and another in June — attracting a large number of devotees. What makes this even more special is the support we receive from the Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, and Christian communities. It truly reflects the spirit of Poonch.”

Tribute to Captain Satish Khera

Earlier this month, on June 8, the Balnoi Battalion of the Indian Army, along with the Border Security Forces, organized a ceremonial uniform change at the Khera Complex in Poonch. The event was held to commemorate the birth anniversary of Captain Satish Khera, a brave soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice on October 7, 1965, during the Battle of OP Hill in the Indo-Pak War.

Captain Khera’s fearless leadership and sacrifice are annually honored by the armed forces. His legacy continues to inspire new generations of soldiers and civilians alike, reflecting the enduring values of courage, patriotism, and duty.
