Former US President and Republican nominee Donald Trump has won the White House race after defeating his Democratic rival Kamala Harris in a stunning political comeback. The Republican won 276 electoral votes and his rival Harris was at 219 while the counting is still underway, CNN reported. Overall, a total of 538 electoral college votes are up for grabs.

The 78-year-old is now the oldest person in US history to be elected president. He will be the 47th president of the United States.

"This will be the golden age of America ... America has given us an unprecedented mandate," Trump said during his victory speech in Florida.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated his 'friend' Donald Trump on winning the 2024 US Presidential election. "Heartiest congratulations my friend Donald Trump on your historic election victory. As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership. Together, let's work for the betterment of our people and to promote global peace, stability and prosperity," PM Modi posted on X.

Here is the list of states won by Donald Trump:

Alabama: Trump won Alabama, adding nine electoral votes to the Republican's tally. Democrats have not won Alabama since 1976.

Arkansas: With 6 electoral votes, Donald Trump emerged victorious in a state where he holds strong rural support. This is the third consecutive time he has won Arkansas.

Florida: The Republican nominee has won the Florida contest securing the state's 30 electoral votes. Trump resides in Florida and the state's Republican governor Ron DeSantis backed his campaign.

Georgia: By getting 16 electoral votes, Trump won the swing state of Georgia. Four years ago, he lost the state by around 12,000 votes.

Idaho: Trump won Idaho for the third consecutive election, adding four electoral votes to his tally.

Iowa: The former US President secured six electoral votes from Iowa.

Indiana: By getting 11 electoral votes, Donald Trump won Indiana.

Kansas: Donald Trump won the Sunflower State with 6 electoral votes. Kansas has not voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since 1964.

Kentucky: With eight electoral votes, Trump secured Kentucky.

Louisiana: In Louisiana too, Trump has won adding eight electoral votes to the Republican's tally.

Mississippi: Former US President Donald Trump has won the state of Mississippi with six electoral votes in the race for the White House.

Missouri: Missouri gave Trump a total of 10 electoral votes.

Montana: Donald Trump won Montana for the third consecutive election adding four electoral votes.

North Carolina: Securing 16 electoral votes, Trump won the crucial swing state of North Carolina.

North Dakota: Trump won the state securing the Republican stronghold and its three electoral votes.

Nebraska: The former US President won four electoral votes in Nebraska.

Ohio: The Republican nominee won 16 electoral votes in Ohio.

Oklahoma: In Oklahoma, Trump won all seven electoral votes.

Pennsylvania: Donald Trump won this key swing state with 19 electoral votes.

South Carolina: This traditionally conservative state gave Trump nine electoral votes.

South Dakota: Trump won South Dakota's three electoral votes. The Republican nominee was widely expected to win the state.

Tennessee: This state gave the former US President 11 electoral votes.

Texas: In a huge win, Trump secured 40 electoral votes from Texas.

Utah: Trump won Utah and secured six electoral votes. A Democratic presidential candidate has not won in Utah since Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964.

West Virginia: The Republican nominee won West Virginia with four electoral votes.

Wisconsin: Trump won the key swing state of Wisconsin on Wednesday, defeating Kamala Harris in a critical battle. The win delivered 10 electoral votes to him.

Wyoming: In Wyoming, Donald Trump won three electoral votes.

Here is the list of states won by Kamala Harris:

California: Harris secured a win in the crucial state of California, securing 54 electoral votes.

Colorado: The Democratic nominee won Colorado, picking up the state's 10 electoral votes.

Connecticut: Harris secured a victory in Connecticut with seven electoral votes.

Delaware: The Vice President got three electoral votes from Delaware.

Hawaii: This island state gave Harris four electoral votes. Hawaii has voted blue in every presidential election since 1988.

Illinois: Kamala Harris won Illinois securing the state's 19 electoral votes.

Maryland: Harris got 10 electoral votes from the state that maintains significant Democratic advantage.

Massachusetts: With all 11 electoral votes, this state went for the Vice President.

Minnesota: Kamala Harris won Minnesota securing 10 electoral votes

New Hampshire: Harris won New Hampshire continuing the state's two-decade-long streak of awarding its four electoral votes to Democrats.

New Jersey: The Indian-American leader won 14 electoral votes of New Jersey.

New Mexico: Harris won New Mexico adding five electoral votes to the Democratic Party's tally.

New York: One of the top financial centres of the world, New York's 28 electoral votes went to Kamala Harris.

Oregon: With eight electoral votes, Harris won Oregon.

Rhode Island: Harris secured a victory in Rhode Island with four electoral votes.

Vermont: In Vermont, Kamala Harris won three electoral votes.

Virginia: Vice President Kamala Harris won Virginia adding 13 electoral votes to her tally.

Washington: The Democratic nominee secured Washington's 12 electoral votes.
