Rahul Dravid channeled the “Indiranagar ka gunda” in him as he roared from the stands after India beat South Africa in the T20 World Cup final. Known to maintain a calm demeanour, the Team India's outgoing head coach gave in to his emotions and was even seen in tears when he was on the ground, hugging Virat Kohli.
Speaking to the media after the match, Rahul Dravid said, "As a player, I was not lucky enough to win a trophy but I gave my best...I was lucky enough to be given an opportunity to coach a team, I was lucky that this bunch of boys made it possible for me to be able to win this trophy. It is a great feeling, it is not like I was aiming for some redemption, it was the job I was doing...it has been a great journey..."

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged Dravid's "unwavering dedication, strategic insights" that transformed the team. "Rahul Dravid’s incredible coaching journey has shaped the success of Indian cricket," he wrote on X. "India is grateful to him for his contributions and for inspiring generations. We are happy to see him lift the World Cup. Happy to have congratulated him."
