As the Pakistan cricket team arrived in India after a gap of seven years, fans gathered at Hyderabad airport to welcome the ‘Men in Green.’ Footage shared by the official Twitter account of Pakistan Cricket shows the warm welcome that the team received, with people lining up to photograph them and greeting them with loud cheers. The Pakistan squad has travelled to India for the ICC World Cup 2023 in their first visit to the country since the 2016 T-20 World Cup.
The Pakistan contingent’s arrival in India coincided with Eid-e-Milad – and food delivery platform Zomato was ready to send them a feast.
“Eid Mubarak, team! Let us know if we can deliver the celebrations,” Zomato wrote in response to Pakistan Cricket’s post.

Zomato’s love affair with cricket is nothing new – the food delivery app has often engaged in friendly trolling with its Pakistani counterpart, Careem, over the game.
Take, for example, the time when India lost to Pakistan in the Asia Cup in September 2022. Careem took a dig at India’s Super 4 loss to Pakistan with a meme and tagged Zomato. Zomato tasted sweet revenge after India's massive victory at the T20 World Cup the following month.
In the ICC World Cup 2023, Pakistan will play their opening warm-up game against New Zealand on September 29 before taking on Australia on October 3. They open their tournament campaign against Netherlands here before battling with Sri Lanka on October 10. The Pakistan players had got their Indian visas less than 48 hours before their scheduled travel. Both India and Pakistan only face each other Asia Cup and ICC events due to the tense relations between the two countries.
