“Just Dropped: The Ultimate Bush. With our daring new Faux Hair Panty, your carpet can be whatever colour you want it to be,” read the brand’s caption. The retro-inspired campaign channels the ’70s era of full-frontal foliage, positioning the thong as a playful nod to body hair liberation.

Social media, however, had its own verdict. “Just when I thought nothing could be worse than Duran’s Gaultier showing, here comes Skims with ‘faux hair micro string thongs,’” wrote Janae (@ideeryoubambi) on X. Graham Banks (@1GrahamDaily) was blunt: “Kim Kardashian is deranged.” Another X user Gus (@iIovekentucky) wrote, "Women in the third world are already exploited by their own governments to the point that they have to sell their precious hair for a few American bucks only to be fashioned into pubic hair on a SKIMS thong."
