A flash mob ransacked a Nike store in Los Angeles on Sunday, making off with merchandise worth $12,000 (Rs 9.9 lakh approximately). Police have released footage of the brazen robbery in hopes of identifying the suspects.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Commercial Crimes Division, 17 suspects arrived at the Nike store in five cars on November 19. They ran through the store, quickly filling up trash bags with sneakers and clothes as customers looked on in horror. They covered their faces with medical masks to avoid identification.
One child was heard crying in the video as the teenagers stormed the Nike store. The teens collected merchandise worth $12,000 and fled the store without paying. Footage shared online shows them clearing shelves and ripping clothes off racks.

Employees and customers did not engage with the robbers or try to stop them, which authorities say is the right thing to do. However, some customers were heard chastising the robbers, who ran out of the store and made their getaway in a tan Infiniti four-door, a gray Kia SUV, a white Honda, a Kia four-door and a black Audi.
"I just think it's sad," said resident Marc Mitchell, according to CBS News. "It's sad that this is what it's come to."
