Taylor Swift is an American musician.

An American man became an internet sensation after he bought a $4,000 (Rs 3.35 lakh) Taylor Swift-inspired guitar at an auction, only to smash it to pieces moments later. The guitar, inspired by pop icon Swift, was a prized item at the auction, but what followed left the audience both stunned and cheering in disbelief.

The incident, which took place at the annual WildGame Dinner in Ellis County, Texas, was captured in a video shared by TMZ. The clip shows the white-haired man repeatedly hitting the guitar with a hammer while the crowd cheered him on. At one point, it appeared he was about to smash the instrument on the ground, but the auction host intervened before further damage could be done.

The Ellis County WildGame Dinner, is a non-profit organisation dedicated to raising money for youth agricultural education in the region. The organisation's website highlights its mission of supporting the local youth, making the incident at the auction all the more peculiar.

Taylor Swift, who is currently on her record-breaking "Eras" tour, has not yet commented on the incident. Swift’s highly anticipated tour, which has generated over a billion dollars, is set to wrap up its US leg on November 3, with a final round of shows in Vancouver in December.

While the auction’s bizarre turn has sparked viral attention, the reason behind the man’s destructive actions remains unclear.
