Anita Lallian, a real estate developer and film producer with Indian heritage, recently purchased the former Los Angeles home of late actor Matthew Perry in Pacific Palisades for $8.55 million (Rs 72,12,81,603 approimately).
Lallian expressed her admiration for the residence's luxurious design and panoramic Pacific Ocean views, noting that her purchase stemmed from a genuine love for the property, rather than its history. Before moving in, she and her family held a traditional puja, inviting a priest from Arizona to perform blessings for the house.
Reflecting on the home's past, Lallian acknowledged Perry’s positive legacy, sharing her intent to preserve distinctive features like the Batman logo in the pool, a unique tribute to the "Friends" actor. "We chose to honour the positive aspects of the previous owner's life," she wrote, expressing her respect for his contributions and the joy he brought to many.
Built in 1965, the property spans 3,500 square feet and includes four bedrooms, wine storage, and large glass walls framing ocean views. Perry originally purchased it in 2020 for $6 million, as reported by The New York Times.
Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the iconic sitcom "Friends", passed away at the age of 54 in October 2023. He was found unresponsive in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home, and it was later reported that his death was due to the acute effects of ketamine, combined with accidental drowning. Perry’s passing prompted an outpouring of grief, shocking fans worldwide.
In addition to his celebrated role on "Friends", Perry had openly shared his struggles with addiction in his memoir "Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing", released in 2022. His openness inspired many, as he spoke about his journey to recovery and his desire to help others facing similar challenges.
