Ashish Singh, Zomato’s product manager, recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his opinions about his recent dining experience at a popular South Indian eatery in Gurugram. Singh visited the Carnatic Café located in 32nd Avenue and revealed his disappointment in a post that has sparked a flurry of reactions from social media users.
Singh expressed his dissatisfaction after eating two dosas and one plate of idli that costed Rs 1,000. He also had to wait for 30 minutes for his meal. “Gurgaon is crazy, spent 1K on two dosa and idli after waiting for 30 min,” he wrote.
Singh also asked for suggestions for good and reasonably priced dosa places in the city.

Since being shared online, the post has garnered thousands of views and several divided comments from social media users. While some came out in support of the restaurant, others gave him suggestions and quoted a few restaurants.
“You pay for the location and vibe not just dosa. 32nd Avenue is most premium location for a restaurant, expect high prices,” a user wrote. Another user suggested, “Move to Bangalore.”
“Juggernaut, Naivedyam, Southy Cafe (Janakpuri), Mysore Café, Sarvana Bhawan,” a third user gave options.
A fourth user added, “Naivedyam. Cheaper dosa and usually no waiting. 3 outlets in Ggn, all equal in quality. There is one stall in the sector 56 Huda market that serves great, sub 100 rupee dosas. Don't remember the name, but the stall used to be red-coloured.”
A small section of people suggested Singh to move to Bengaluru for better dosas at cheaper rates. A selected few rooted for Naivedyam in the comments section.
