Arjun Mohan, former upGrad chief, has now been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of India operations. He will succeed Mrinal Mohit, who has been at the Bengaluru-based ed-tech startup since day one. As per the company, Mohit is moving on to pursue “personal aspirations”.
Mohan was part of the founding team of Byju’s and rejoined the company in July to lead its international business.
So, who is Arjun Mohan? Read on to find out further about him.
Mohan previously served as the Chief Business Officer of Byju's before joining upGrad as CEO in 2020. He spent the last three months working closely with the founder and Group CEO Byju Raveendran.
“Arjun's return is a testament to his belief in our mission and the unparalleled opportunities that lie ahead. His expertise will undoubtedly help our turnaround efforts and strengthen our position in the global edtech landscape," Raveendran said in a statement.
Mohan has an experience of over a decade. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors at Sharekhan and Mom’s Co.
Mohan did his MBA from IIM Kozhikode and is a graduate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut.
"It was no surprise that I joined him to revolutionise education more than a decade ago. And it is no surprise either that I return to Byju's today, when technology is poised to play an even more important role in making education truly personalised. While challenges are aplenty, I am ready to play my role in helping Byju's empower our current and future generations to thrive in a rapidly changing world,” Mohan said.
