Salaar Part 1 – Ceasefire dropped on Netflix on January 20.

From gripping dramas to reality shows, to sci-fi adventures and side-splitting comedies, January will see highly anticipated films, some docuseries and many series make their digital debut. Here’s what to look out for this week:

True Detective: Night Country, Jio Cinema, January 15

This new chapter in the anthology is set in the Alaskan winters, against a backdrop of ancient beliefs and supernatural elements and stars Jodie Foster, Kali Reis and others. The detectives investigate the mysterious disappearance of eight men from the Tsalal Arctic Research Station and uncover haunting truths.

The Marvels, Apple TV and Prime Video, January 16

Marvel Cinematic Universe’s 33rd film this one debuted on OTT. It focuses on the aftermath of Carol Danvers destroying the Supreme Intelligence, and civil war in Kree. Ms Marvel Kamala Khan and Captain Monica Rambeau journey to save the universe against the new evils along with Carol.

A Shop for Killers, Disney+ Hotstar, January 17

This action, thriller, drama starring Kim Hye-jun, Lee Dong-wook, Ji-Bin Park is about how an orphan suddenly comes face to face with and unexpected and dangerous truth about his uncle.

Kübra, Netflix, January 18

This Turkish thriller drama, based in suburban Istanbul is a story around a simple man getting messages and information from an unknown titular entity in a rather enigmatic way.

Cristóbal Balenciaga, Disney+ Hotstar, January 19

This biographical drama series starring Alberto San Juan, Belén Cuesta, Gemma Whelan is about the life and journey of the Spanish fashion designer who was known for dressing Spain's elite in the late 1930s.

Hazbin Hotel Season 1, Amazon Prime Video, January 19

King of hell Lucifer's daughter, Charlie Morningstar, wants to rehabilitate demons and enable them to enter heaven. The princess sets up a hotel to help demons reform and reduce Hell's overcrowding without violence, in this adult animated musical series.

Extra Ordinary Man, Disney+ Hotstar, January 19

Starring Nithin, Rohini, Sree Leela, this action comedy is about a young junior artist who has always loved acting and how his life changes after falling in love with Likitha.

The Bequeathed, Netflix, January 19

Starring Kim Hyun-joo, Park Hee-soon, Ryu Kyung-soo this thriller is about a lady who is bequeathed a family burial ground from her dead uncle, and how things get dark and she finds herself involved in secrets and killings.

Sixty Minutes, Netflix, January 19

This sports action film is on MMA fighter Octavio “Ox” Rodriguez and stars Emilio Sakraya, Dennis Mojen, Marie Mouroum. It is how Ox has to either skip an important match or lose custody of his daughter for life, if he doesn’t make it to ger birthday in one hour.

The Kitchen, Netflix, January 19

This science fiction is set in 2044 and is a dystopian thriller based in London starring Kane Robinson. The new world has a stark rich-poor divide and Izi and the 12-year-old orphan Benji have to survive.

Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story, Disney+ Hotstar, January 19

Starring Ross Brawn, Jenson Button, Keanu Reeves, this documentary on the world's most elite car racing championship, is about Ross who led a small team to victory.

LOL: Last One Laughing Ireland, Amazon Prime Video, January 19

Ten sought-after comedy stars from Ireland are brought together to make each other laugh.

Dance Life, Amazon Prime Video, January 19

A gripping docuseries, this is about a select group of dance students who are in their final make-or-break year at Australia’s elite dance studio, Brent Street.

Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, Netflix, January 20

Starring Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Meenakshi Chaudhary, this action thriller is about friendship and how a gang leader fights to fulfill his friend’s wish.

Captivating the King, Netflix, January 21

Starring Jo Jung-suk, Shin Se-kyung, Lee Shin-young, this South Korean series starring Jo is a drama about power struggles and is the love story of the miserable king who has no one he can trust.
