"Oppenheimer" won the award in the Best Picture-Drama category at the 81st Golden Globe Awards held in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles on Sunday.

The award was one of many for the biographical thriller, which also won in the categories of Best Director-Motion Picture for Christopher Nolan, Best Supporting Actor Male for Robert Downey Jr. and Best Original Score-Motion Picture for Ludwig Göransson.
Nolan's award was his first victory in the Best Director category at the awards after six nominations. The award for "Oppenheimer" was his Downey Jr.'s fourth Golden Globe and his first since winning Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy category for Sherlock Holmes in 2010.
Starring Cillian Murphy in the titular role of Robert Oppenheimer, the biographical thriller depicts the tale of how the theoretical physicist, who later became known as "the father of the atomic bomb", overcame numerous ups and downs to carve a name for himself in the history books.
"Oppenheimer" released in India, along side "Barbie" on July 21 and earned widespread praise for its story and the performances of the lead and supporting actors.
The movie, made at a budge of 100 million, collected a total of 954 million at the box office.
