Comedian Nikki Glaser announced as host for the 82nd Golden Globe Awards

Comedian Nikki Glaser has been announced as the host for the 82nd Golden Globes Awards, set to take place on January 5, 2025. This marks Nikki Glaser’s debut as the host of the prestigious event, and she shared her excitement in a statement.

"I am absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Golden Globes. It’s one of my favorite nights of television, and now I get a front-row seat—well, actually, I think I have to host from the stage,” she quipped. “The Golden Globes isn’t just a huge night for TV and film; it’s also a big night for comedy. It’s one of the few times in show business when it’s not only allowed but encouraged to lovingly mock the industry—at least I hope that’s the case. (God, I hope so.) It’s an exciting yet challenging gig because it’s live, unpredictable, and in front of Hollywood’s biggest stars—who may or may not be getting tipsy while seated next to their recent exes." Nikki said.

Nikki Glaser continued, "Some of my all-time favorite jokes have come from past Golden Globes monologues, especially when Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, or Ricky Gervais said exactly what we didn’t know we needed to hear. I just hope I can carry on that tradition (even if it might get me canceled). This is truly a dream job. Plus, now I don’t have to feel guilty for every TV show and movie I’ve binged over the past year—it was all worth it."

Nikki Glaser shared a post on her Instagram handle announcing the news and captioned it, "I am absolutely thrilled to be hosting the @GoldenGlobes!
