Aamir Khan was among the people who were rescued from Chennai as the city experienced torrential rain due to Cyclone Michaung. A picture of the actor in a rescue boat surfaced online today. Tamil actor Vishnu Vishal was also seen on the same boat with other people and rescue officers. They even posed for a few photos after everyone was brought to a safe area.
The now-viral pictures of Khan and other people were shared on X by Vishal. “Thanks to the fire and rescue department in helping people like us who are stranded. Rescue operations have started in Karapakkam. Saw 3 boats functioning already. Great work by TN govt in such testing times. Thanks to all the administrative people who are working relentlessly.”

Earlier, Vishal shared pictures from his house in Chennai’s Karapakkam that showed inundation all around. In the post, he revealed that there was no electricity, internet and phone signals. He also mentioned about water entering his house.
“Water is entering my house and the level is rising badly in Karapakkam. I have called for help. No electricity, no wifi, No phone signal, Nothing. Only on terrace at a particular point I get some signal. Let’s hope I and so many here get some help. I can feel for people all over Chennai,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, heavy rains continued to batter Chennai and its neighbouring districts and caused flooding as Cyclone Michaung hit the city. Most parts of the city, including Marina Beach and the Madras International Meenambakkam Airport, were submerged in water.
Cyclone Michaung will not be affecting northern India. Its effects will be felt in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chattisgarh and Odisha. Additionally, there will be an indirect impact on northeastern states, Jharkhand, and Bihar, with anticipated light rainfall, according to Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, the Director-General of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)
