Chennai floods: Actor Ajith Kumar pitches in to help Aamir Khan, Vishnu Vishal relocate

Actor Ajith Kumar met Aamir Khan and Vishnu Vishal after they were rescued from Karapakkam amid floods in Chennai. "Thala" Ajith made travel arrangements for the two actors and the members of the villa community, Vishnu shared on X.

"After getting to know our situation through a common friend, the ever-helpful Ajith Sir came to check in on us and helped with travel arrangements for our villa community members… Love you Ajith Sir!" he wrote. The post received more than two million views and is now viral.

Aamir Khan and Vishnu Vishal were stranded for several hours due to the floods in Chennai. As the water levels continued to increase in the Karapakkam locality where the actors were put up, Vishnu posted a distress message on X requesting to be rescued. The fire and rescue department responded and evacuated them and 30 others from the villa community by boat.

Meanwhile, residents grappled with stagnant water and power disruption in parts of the city and its suburbs on Wednesday, two days after Cyclone Michaung wreaked havoc in the metropolis and neighbouring districts, even as civic agency personnel stepped up relief and rehabilitation efforts.

The cyclone-triggered heavy rainfall had led to inundation in several localities in Chennai. On Wednesday too, people were seen leaving their homes in the areas surrounded with water to safer zones, carrying their children and wading through stagnant water.
