After a long wait, Tata finally has announced the launch date for the compact SUV Harrier for January 23, 2019.
The Harrier and will go up and against the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass, and remains broadly true to the H5X concept that was revealed earlier at the Auto Expo.

Built around Tata's Impact Design 2.0, the Harrier gets the same slit-like headlamps and grille as the concept car, while the main headlamp unit is integrated into the fog lamp assembly that is closer to the bumper.
The heavily contoured side profile has also been carried forward and rounding everything off, the car gets a faux scuff plate at both ends.
The SUV gets Tata's all-new 2-litre Kryotec engine derived from FCA's Multijet II as seen on the Jeep Compass. It is a 4-cylinder turbocharged powerplant capable of churning out 140 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
On the features front, the Harrier is expected to sport the best Tata has to offer including a twin-screen setup, an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The car will also get a JBL 9-speaker set up, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, cruise control, ABS, traction control, electronic stability programme and electronic brake force distribution among others.
The Tata Harrier will go up directly against the Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass and Mahindra XUV500. While the price still hasn't been officially announced, bookings have begun and expected deliveries to start by the end of January.
