Gionee launches 4G VoLTE smartphone X1 at Rs 8,999

Gionee has launched the all new 4G VoLTE compatible phone X1 in India. Priced at Rs 8,999, the phone will pack a fingerprint sensor together with a massive 3,000 mAh battery.

The phone comes as a precursor to the company’s plans to introduce a new line of devices which will not only have attractive features but will also be affordable.

Specifications wise, the phone will sport a 5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The device will run Amigo 4.0 OS based on Android 7.0 Nougat.

Powering the device is a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor clocked at 1.3GHz.

The phone will have a 16 GB internal memory and will have a dedicated expandable microSD card slot with a capacity of up to 256 GB.

Apart from an eight megapixel rear snapper, X1 will carry an eight megapixel camera at the front for selfie-buffs. The company says both the cameras are capable of full HD recording.

The phone will be available in two colours — black and gold and features a fingerprint sensor placed at the back. Gionee says that the fingerprint sensor will not only provide security and privacy protection, but also “serves to take a selfie stably and conveniently”.

Gionee has partnered with Airtel and Paytm and has announced exclusive offers for phone buyers. Any new or existing Airtel customer who purchases X1 will get an additional 10 GB data every month for six consecutive recharges.

Paytm will provide all buyers with two cashback vouchers wherein customers will get a cashback on a minimum purchase of Rs 350 from Paytm Mall.

The phone is available for purchase at all leading offline retailers.
