The Vivo S50 series is set to go official in China in December, comprising two models: Vivo S50 and S50 Pro Mini. Now, Vivo has shared some teasers of this handset, confirming its full design and key specifications, positioning it as a compact flagship smartphone.
Vivo S50 Pro Mini: Expected specifications, design
The Vivo Product Manager has shared key specifications and design of the upcoming Vivo S50 Pro Mini through various posts on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo. The phone will come with a 6.31-inch flat display, just like its predecessor, the S30 Pro Mini, and house a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. At the back, the phone will get a triple rear camera setup that includes a Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto unit. For selfies, the phone will offer a 50MP sensor.
Powering the Vivo S50 Pro Mini will be the newly introduced Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 onboard storage. The Vivo official has confirmed that this is the first time that an S-series handset will be powered by the latest flagship Snapdragon processor, which is claimed to score more than 3 million points on Antutu benchmark.
The Vivo S50 Pro Mini is also confirmed to come with an IP68 + IP69 dust and water resistance rating. The renders of the S50 Pro Mini confirm that the phone will have a metal frame and will have an iPhone-like triangular camera setup housed in a square camera island at the top left corner. The phone will pack a 6,500mAh battery and will support 90W wired and 40W wireless fast charging. Like its predecessor, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini is expected to be launched under the X300 series globally, and could be renamed as Vivo X300 FE in India.
