Delta Electronics gets Bengaluru Metro station naming rights; signs MoU

This is the third Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Yellow Line, following agreements with Infosys Foundation for Konappana Agrahara Metro station and Biocon Foundation for Hebbagodi Metro station.

Delta Electronics has committed to funding Rs 65 crore, of which they have already deposited Rs 10 crore.

Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) and Delta Electronics India Pvt Ltd on March 14 entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for station naming rights.

Delta Electronics has committed to funding Rs 65 crore of which it have already deposited Rs 10 crore. The contribution is part of an 'innovative financing mechanism' for the construction of Bommasandra Metro Station on the Yellow Line (R V Road to Bommasandra, Reach-5 line) under Phase II of the Bengaluru Metro rail project.

"According to the agreement, BMRCL will offer naming rights of Bommasandra Metro station for 30 years with the approval of Karnataka government, naming it as ‘Delta Electronics-Bommasandra Metro Station,’ BMRCL said in a statement.

Delta Electronics Inc, a Taiwanese electronics manufacturing company, has a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and has implemented various initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint. The company promotes energy-efficient products and services to help customers optimize energy usage and reduce environmental impact, according to a statement

M Maheshwar Rao, Managing Director, BMRCL expressed his satisfaction with Delta Electronics India Pvt Ltd's support for sustainable urban development and urban Transport.

Benjamin Lin, President of Delta Electronics India, and Niranjan Nayak, MD of Delta Electronics India, in a joint statement, said, “We are pleased to partner with BMRCL for the construction of the metro station at Bommasandra on Hosur Road. This project will help in easing traffic congestion by enabling greater use of public transportation.

This is the third MoU signed within the Yellow Line, following agreements with Infosys Foundation for Konappana Agrahara Metro Station and Biocon Foundation for Hebbagodi Metro Station.
