Al-Falah University has approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court challenging the Haryana government’s decision to take over its administration. The institution termed the appointment of an administrator “arbitrary” and sought relief against the state’s intervention.
Delhi Water Minister Atishi accuses the Haryana government of reducing water flow to the national capital, worsening the ongoing water crisis amid extreme heat. This comes after the Supreme Court directed Himachal Pradesh to release 137 cusecs of surplus water to Delhi, instructing Haryana to facilitate its flow. Atishi, at the Wazirabad barrage, highlights the alarming drop in water levels and vows to address the issue in the Supreme Court on Monday, June 10.
Addressing a press conference, Atishi said many areas in Delhi are grappling with water shortage and appealed to people to use water judiciously.
The new residential sectors are likely to come up in areas like Gurugram sectors 36A, 37, 68, 70 and Sohna, Farrukhnagar and Pataudi.
The state government remains dedicated to completely eliminating the crop residue burning incidents, even as it has achieved 38 per cent reduction in stubble burning incidents during the current harvesting season over the previous year, they said.
Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala announced the decision after reviewing various Civil and Aviation Department projects here, the official said.
In the meeting, attended by senior police officers of Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and the Union Territory of Chandigarh, Kapur said the administration has denied permission for the yatra due to a meeting of the G20 Sherpa Group, scheduled to be held in Nuh during September 3-7, and to maintain law and order in the aftermath of the July 31 violence.
Khattar made this announcement during the 'Jan Samvad programme' at Bakana village in the Yamunanagar district, said an official release.
