Boney Kapoor, along with his team, has given a building layout map for approval to start with the development work at the Film City project site in Noida's Sector 21, said YEIDA.
Filmmaker Boney Kapoor has recently submitted a master plan consisting of the layout for the Film City project’s first phase spread across 230 acres, to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority for approval. The construction work is likely to begin at the site from January end after the approval of the master plan.
Officials said that with the signing of the concession agreement, the Bayview Projects LLP has also been handed over the allotted land parcel to start construction work for the first phase of the project. The first phase of the project will be built on 230 acres of land while the total area earmarked for the project is 1000 acre. Estimated investment is above Rs 1500 crore.

The approval for the film city project was given by the UP Cabinet in March 2024 and later that month the award letter of the project was also issued for the concessionaire. A consortium led by Bollywood filmmaker Boney Kapoor’s firm Baywatch Projects LLP in association with Noida based developer Bhutani Infra will develop the Film City project near Noida International Airport along the Yamuna Expressway.
The film city will be developed in Sector 21 along the Yamuna Expressway near Noida International Airport in Jewar. Out of 230 acres of land, 155 acres will be dedicated for industrial use and the remaining 75 for commercial use.

Film City would feature pre- and post-production facilities and film tourism. It would have space for music dubbing, editing and VFX studios, holding movie premieres and film festivals, and include a film museum and theme park.
Global music and filmmaking companies such as Sony, Fox and Universal have also shown interest in the project.
