The new Esplanade–Sealdah Metro stretch will drastically cut travel time between Howrah and Sealdah, reducing the 40–45 minute road journey to just 11 minutes, offering huge relief to daily commuters.

The Orange Line extension will link Hemanta Mukhopadhyay to Beleghata, easing travel between South and East Kolkata.

With 366 new services, waiting times will reduce, overcrowding will ease, and lakhs of commuters will benefit daily.
The Yellow Line stretch from Noapara to Jai Hind Airport will make airport travel faster and smoother, benefiting passengers, airline staff and workers alike. With an interchange at Dum Dum Cantonment, it connects directly to the rest of the city and major railway stations, cutting the Esplanade–Airport journey to just 30 minutes.

These new Metro lines will not only benefit Kolkata but also passengers from North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas.
