In a chilling incident in a Punjab village, a pastor and his men brutally beat a father of three to death, believing they were driving out a ghost that entered his body and soul. The incident happened on the night of August 21-22 in Dhariwal police station area of Gurdaspur.

The ordeal began when Rakha Masih, the mother of the deceased Samuel Masih, sought the help of a pastor. She had grown desperate as her son’s health deteriorated, claiming he was suffering from mysterious complications despite the family’s efforts to cure him.

According to reports from The Tribune, instead of offering the expected prayers, the pastors initiated a terrifying ritual. They began by beating and kicking Samuel until his body turned blue. When pastor Jacob realized Samuel had stopped responding, he summoned more accomplices to further the gruesome act.

The scene grew more horrifying as eight more men joined the assault. Samuel’s cries and pleas were met with increased violence, leaving him severely battered. Eventually, he succumbed to the brutal treatment. His body was then placed on a cot, and the relatives arranged for a secretive burial at the village cremation ground.

The villagers initially tried to keep the incident a secret, but whispers of the atrocity spread. However, even several days after the gruesome incident, people were unwilling to utter even a single word about what happened.

A cop involved in the investigation revealed that Samuel’s family was instructed to keep quiet about the events, said The Tribune report.
