On the occasion of India’s 76th Republic Day, internet giant Google, on Sunday, unveiled a vibrant and imaginative doodle celebrating the nation's rich cultural diversity and wildlife. Created by Pune-based guest artist Rohan Dahotre, the artwork features a parade of animals dressed in traditional Indian attire, representing various regions of the country.

The colourful doodle incorporates a touch of surrealism, with the six letters of "GOOGLE" seamlessly woven into the theme, giving the appearance of a lively "wildlife parade." The characters depicted include a snow leopard dressed in Ladakhi attire, a tiger wearing a dhoti-kurta and holding a traditional musical instrument, a peacock in flight, and an antelope in ceremonial garb carrying a staff.

In a statement on its website, Google described the artwork as a celebration of “India's 76th Republic Day, an occasion marked by national pride and unity." Dahotre, the artist behind the creation, noted, “Republic Day holds great significance for India, as it unites people across the nation and ignites a sense of patriotism in every Indian. With its incredible diversity encompassing countless languages, cultures, and traditions, India feels like a vibrant world within itself.”

The Republic Day Parade, a highlight of the celebrations, will take place along the iconic Kartavya Path in New Delhi. This year’s parade will feature 16 tableaux from different states and Union Territories, along with 15 tableaux from central ministries, departments, and organisations. Among them, Madhya Pradesh’s tableau will showcase Project Cheetah and the Kuno National Park, spotlighting the state’s wildlife conservation efforts.

Attendees and viewers of the parade will witness a spectacular display of military strength, cultural heritage, and artistic expression as the nation completes 75 years as a Republic. The event, which stretches across several kilometers to the India Gate, includes grand floats, cultural performances, and marches by contingents of India’s armed forces.
