Shahid Afridi, Pakistan’s former cricketer, who was once known for his aggressive batting, has found himself in controversy.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Afridi is seen making disparaging remarks about the Indian armed forces. The former captain blamed New Delhi for the killings of 27 tourists in Pahalgam’s Baisaran Valley.
Shahid Afridi is an apt example that terrorists don't always come with weapons. They can be found on playgrounds as well; and can even be disguised as comedians. pic.twitter.com/gpHiyVoJne

Once celebrated for his all-rounder skills, Afridi claimed that the attackers were on a rampage for over an hour, and yet no one from the 8-lakh-strong Indian Army reached the site. Defending Pakistan, Afridi said, “Within ten minutes, New Delhi blamed Islamabad for the attack.”
He did not stop there. “Khud hi logon ko marwa dete hain (India kills its own people),” Afridi said mockingly.

“Islam teaches us peace only, and Pakistan never supports such acts. Indians should blame themselves for this,” the former cricketer added.
Afridi’s remarks come amid heightened tension between India and Pakistan following the Baisaran carnage. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today. The Line of Control is also seeing several instances of unprovoked firing from Pakistani side in last four-five days.
