Following the devastating Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a major crackdown on the terror network, conducting widespread raids across Srinagar, Doda, and Kishtwar on Monday. According to a police spokesperson, 36 sites in Srinagar were searched, with most of the targeted properties belonging to militants or their supporters. The raids were carried out lawfully, under the oversight of senior police officers, and in the presence of executive magistrates and independent witnesses.

Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a phone conversation with Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, during which they discussed India’s recent restrictive measures.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir after the Pahalgam terror attack. The meeting, held on Monday, focused on the aftermath of the attack on April 22 that resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians. India is currently evaluating measures to punish those responsible for the attack, with authorities citing "cross-border linkages" and promising severe consequences for those involved. The incident has sparked widespread anger both within India and internationally.

Union Minister Chirag Paswan emphasized the need for national solidarity in response to recent attacks, stating that unity across political lines, including the opposition, is crucial to delivering a strong and appropriate response to those responsible.

Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, in an interview with Reuters, claimed that an Indian military incursion appears imminent in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack. “We have reinforced our forces because it is something which is imminent now. So in that situation some strategic decisions have to be taken, so those decisions have been taken,” Asif told Reuters.

In response to the recent attack in Kashmir, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun said that China welcomes any measure that helps cool down the situation and supports conducting a just investigation as soon as possible. As the neighbour of both India and Pakistan, China hopes that both sides will exercise restraint, work in the same direction, handle relevant differences properly through dialogue and consultation, and jointly uphold peace and stability in the region

Congress general secretary Gulam Ahmed Mir on Monday condemned the Pahalgam terror attack, calling it a cruel and inhuman act. He said that the Congress fully supports the government's efforts to protect the nation and to bring back peace and stability.

Reacting to China’s support for Pakistan, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that while it is up to the government to decide how to respond, India should not feel threatened by such actions. On Congress leader Udit Raj's remark on him,  Tharoor says, "I believe the person who said this is a former BJP MP, so you can ask him, he is better qualified to understand who speaks for the BJP... I think everybody knows that I am not a BJP spokesperson. I am not anyone's spokesperson. I speak for myself."

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday highlighted the widespread public outrage in Jammu and Kashmir over the Pahalgam terror attack, calling it a sign of hope that terrorism could come to an end with the support of the people. He assured that his government would work to strengthen the public’s efforts against terrorism. Abdullah also urged the Centre to avoid actions that could further alienate the public following the April 22 attack in Baisaran meadow, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists. Jharkhand's Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Gupta announced on Monday that the state's police have requested information on Pakistani nationals residing in Jharkhand from the Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO). He said that the Inspector General of the Special Branch has been assigned the task of collecting this information from the FRRO in Kolkata.

Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to call a special session of Parliament to discuss the threats to national unity and the security of citizens.

Former Nepal Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai condemned the Pahalgam terror attack on Monday, calling it "unpleasant and ghastly," and expressed his solidarity with the people of India.

"We stand with the people of India," he stated during a press interaction in Delhi.

BJP MLA Vikram Randhawa said that the resolution condemning the Pahalgam terror attack was unanimously passed by the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly. Randhawa says, "This resolution was unanimously passed by the Assembly. This resolution is for humanity. Everyone said that they are against terrorism, and it will not be tolerated. It was also agreed that J&K Assembly is with Govt of India."

The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Monday passed a resolution expressing deep shock and sorrow over the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives. The resolution, moved by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, emphasized the Assembly's commitment to defeating efforts that aim to disrupt communal harmony and halt progress in the region. The special session of the Assembly began with a two-minute silence to honor the victims of the attack. "The Legislative Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir reaffirms its unwavering commitment to foster an environment of peace, development, and inclusive prosperity for all its citizens, and to resolutely defeat the nefarious designs of those who seek to disturb the communal harmony and progress of the nation and of Jammu and Kashmir,” the resolution stated.

Congress MP Jairam Ramesh addressed the various remarks made by some party leaders regarding the Pahalgam terror attack, says "...It is right that some leaders of the Congress party are saying several things, but this is their personal opinion. I want to make it clear that no one has given them the right to say all this...The Congress party has nothing to do with these statements, and the party does not agree with such statements."

The Congress party has instructed its leaders not to deviate from party line on Pahalgam issue.

National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah called for concrete actions to prevent such incidents in the future. Abdullah said, “I used to favour dialogue with Pakistan every time…How will we answer those who lost their loved ones? Are we doing justice? Not Balakot, today the nation wants such action to be taken so that these kinds of attacks never happen…” Abdullah strongly condemned Pakistan, accusing it of 'murdering humanity'. He said, “We regret that our neighbour today also does not understand that it has murdered humanity. If they think that by doing this, we will go with Pakistan, we should clear their misunderstanding. We did not go with them in 1947, so why will we go today? We threw the two-nation theory into the water at that time. Today, we are also not ready to accept the two-nation theory. Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christians, we are all one…We will give a befitting reply to them.”

BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad acknowledged that Congress party leaders have supported the government with Rahul Gandhi issuing a statement to affirm this, calls it a 'sign of a strong democracy.' However, he criticized some Congress leaders, particularly Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for saying that there is no need for war. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday criticized senior Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar for his remark questioning whether terrorists have time to ask about religion during attacks. Fadnavis said such comments only deepen the pain of the families of those killed in the Pahalgam terror attack, adding that they amount to "adding insult to injury." "Such statements add insult to injury for those who have lost their relatives. We all have seen what the family members of the victims have said. They were killed before them, and they have said this",  said Fadnavis.

The family of Prashant Satpathy, who lost his life in the Pahalgam terror attack, has strongly objected to a fake crowdfunding campaign being circulated online in their name. A formal complaint has been filed with the Cyber Crime and Economic Offence police in Balasore, alleging that unknown individuals are collecting money on false pretences. Prashant’s wife, Priya Darshani Achariya, clarified that they never authorized any fundraiser and do not seek public donations—only prayers for her late husband.

Speaking on the Pahalgam attack, Congress MLA Vijay Wadettiwar said that the terrorists intended to make two communities fight on the basis of religion and harm the country. He said, terrorists asking tourists to recite Kalma, shows that Pakistan's politics is behind this to harm the country. This should not happen. There should be no attempt to divide Hindus and Muslims on this. Terrorists have no caste or religion. Their aim is to disturb the country and destroy it. He assures that Congress will stand behind the government in whatever action it takes to protect national unity.

Jammu Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah expresses deep regret over Baisaran attack, says, This incident affected the entire country. We have seen many such attacks in the past... An attack of such a large scale has been carried out after 21 years in Baisaran... I did not know how to apologise to the families of the deceased... Being the host, it was my duty to send the tourists back safely. I couldn't do it. I do not have the words to seek an apology...

The Taliban has condemned the Pahalgam terror attack that took place on April 22 and killed 26 people in the Kashmir valley.

Shahid Afridi, while talking about the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, said, "Khud hi logon ko marwa dete hain (India kills its own people)...Islam teaches us peace only, and Pakistan never supports such acts. Indians should blame themselves for this."

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence will meet at 3:00 PM today in the Parliament House Annexe. This comes after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, that happened earlier today. The meeting comes a day after Chief of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan briefed the Defence Minister on the key decisions taken to counter Pakistan following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that happened on April 22 and claimed 26 lives.

The resolution stressed the fact that the attack was an assault on the values of "Kashmiriyat", the Constitution, and the spirit of unity, peace, and harmony in Jammu and Kashmir and expressed full solidarity with the victims and their families, offering condolences to those affected. The resolution also condemned the terror attack and expressed solidarity with the victims.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday - in the aftermath of the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people on April 22, 2025.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 11 am today, reports have said. National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval will also be a part of the meeting. This comes days after the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives.

The National Investigation Agency team reached Pahalgam terror attack victim Bharath Bhushan's residence in Bengaluru on Monday. Bhushan was one of the 26 people who lost their lives in the attack.

Days after the Pahalgam terror attack shook the entire nation, tourists were seen returning to Kashmir. Visuals showed how people flocked to Dal Lake and even Pahalgam, in the aftermath of the terror attack.

Rakesh Wazir, president of the Hotel and Restaurant Association in Katra, says, "Pahalgam Terrorist Attack has had a significant impact on the entire booking. Bookings are getting cancelled continuously. According to our assessment, about 35 to 37 bookings have been cancelled so far. I appeal to people that the situation in Katra, in particular, was never disturbed before, nor is it today. The place where this happened is also very far away. And if we talk about the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the entire situation here is fine... We welcome the action taken by the central government."

China has called for a "swift and fair investigation" into the Pahalgam terror attack, even as it expressed firm support for its "all-weather ally" Pakistan in safeguarding its sovereignty and security interests amid rising tensions with India.

According to a report by the state-run Xinhua news agency, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a telephonic conversation with Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday.

Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, was briefed by Dar on the growing friction between Islamabad and New Delhi "following a terrorist attack in the Kashmir region".

Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir carried out raids at multiple locations in Doda and Kishtwar districts of Jammu and Kashmir. This came as part of a massive crackdown against terror network.

India has responded swiftly and effectively to the ceasefire violations at the LoC, the Indian Army has said. Pakistan has violated ceasefire for fourth night in a row.
