With security measures tightened across the National Capital, Delhi Police on Thursday has advised all passengers to arrive well in advance at railway stations, metro stations, and the airport to avoid delays during enhanced security checks.
According to Joint Commissioner of Police Milind Dumbre, travellers should reach railway stations at least one hour before their train’s scheduled departure, metro stations 20 minutes early, and airports three hours before international flights, news agency ANI reported
The advisory aims to ensure smooth security screening, prevent last-minute inconveniences, and facilitate timely boarding amid intensified security measures at key transport hubs in Delhi.
According to the advisory issued by Joint Commissioner of Police (Delhi) Milind Dumbre, “In view of the heightened security arrangements in the national capital, all passengers are advised to reach the railway stations, metro stations and airport well in advance.”
Passengers travelling by train have been asked to arrive at least one hour before the scheduled departure, while those using the Delhi Metro should reach 20 minutes prior to their train’s departure. For international flights, travellers are advised to reach the airport at least three hours in advance.
Officials said the advisory aims to ensure smooth security checks, prevent last-minute inconvenience, and facilitate timely boarding amid the enhanced vigil at key transport hubs. Authorities have also appealed for public cooperation to help maintain safety and ensure seamless travel during this period of heightened alert.
The move follows new developments in the Delhi blast investigation, with fresh CCTV footage showing prime accused Dr Umar Un Nabi entering the city through the Badarpur border in an i20 car. In the video, Umar is seen halting at the Badarpur toll plaza, taking out cash, and handing it to the toll collector.
Security agencies have also recovered diaries belonging to accused Dr Umar and Dr Muzammil, which mention dates from November 8 to 12, suggesting that planning for the incident was underway during that period. Sources said the diaries also contained names of around 25 individuals, mostly from Jammu and Kashmir and Faridabad, further expanding the scope of the investigation.
