Excel Entertainment’s war drama 120 Bahadur is preparing for a release unlike anything seen before in Indian cinema — one designed especially for the country’s soldiers and their families.
Releasing 21 November, the film will be screened across India’s defence theatre network, ensuring that the people who live the realities of service and sacrifice get to experience the story first.
This landmark initiative will bring the film to over 800 defence cinema halls, including bases tucked away in remote corners of the country where entertainment options are often limited.
As per India Today, thanks to PictureTime’s mobile cinema technology, along with support from GenSync Brat Media, the film will reach audiences who are usually left out of big theatrical moments.
Sushil Chaudhary, Founder and CEO of PictureTime, shared why this rollout matters so much. India has around 1.5 million active soldiers and nearly 20 million veterans and family members, yet only a fraction — roughly 30% — have access to defence cinemas.
He explained that the goal is simple: to ensure that those who serve the nation can also enjoy high-quality cinema with their loved ones, no matter where they’re posted.
For Excel Entertainment, the initiative feels deeply personal. CEO Vishal Ramchandani said the team is honoured that members of the armed forces will be among the first to watch the film.
Given that 120 Bahadur is rooted in themes of bravery, duty, and the emotional cost of war, sharing it directly with soldiers adds a layer of meaning that goes beyond a normal film release.
The story itself is centred on the Battle of Rezang La, a moment in India’s military history that continues to inspire awe. The cast — including Farhan Akhtar, Raashii Khanna, Sparsh Walia, Vivan Bhatena, Dhanveer Singh, Digvijay Pratap, Sahib Verma, Ankit Siwach, Devendra Ahirwar, Ashutosh Shukla, Brijesh Karanwal, Atul Singh, Ajinkya Deo, and Eijaz Khan — brings together an impressive mix of talent to honour this chapter of courage.
The film is directed by Razneesh “Razy” Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and Amit Chandrra.
Although 120 Bahadur will release globally on 21 November 2025, its first screening in defence theatres stands out as a heartfelt tribute.
