Buoyed by the overwhelming response to its recently concluded residential plots scheme, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) will float a similar scheme in January-February 2024, officials said.
.Under the scheme, the authority is likely to offer over 2,000 residential plots of different sizes. Officials said that these plots will be located close to the upcoming Noida International airport. However, the sectors where these plots would come up are yet to be decided.
Arun Vir Singh, Chief Executive Officer, YEIDA, said that people prefer residential plots because the authority’s recently concluded residential plot scheme received an “overwhelming response”.
“This shows people would want to build their houses and live near the upcoming Jewar airport. So, witnessing the demand, the authority will soon launch a residential scheme early next year in January-February 2024. Preparations for this have also started,” Singh said.
What is the earlier scheme?
On October 18, the authority had held a draw for 1,184 residential plots in three different sectors. As many as 1.4 lakh people had applied for the 1,184 residential plots located in YEIDA sectors 16, 17 and 20, along the Yamuna Expressway.
Another authority official said that land acquisition for the residential plots for the upcoming scheme is yet to take place. “The land department of the authority has been instructed to acquire land for residential plots. As soon as the land is with the authority, a new housing scheme will be rolled out,” he said.
The land acquisition process is likely to be completed by December-end and land is expected to be available by January 2024. Therefore, the Yamuna authority is expected to launch new residential plots in January 2024, the official said.
