Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company has increased its weightage in information technology, pharmaceutical and metals & mining sectors. However, it decreased its weightage in the banking & financial services, oil & gas and services space.Thomas Cook (India), Federal Bank and Edelweiss Financial Services were the top buys while IDFC, Sterling Holiday Resorts and National Aluminium Company were the top sells.The study of Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company for the quarter of July-September 2015 shows that, in the IT space, Infosys, Tech Mahindra and HCL Technologies were the top buys, while Wipro, Cyient and Persistent Systems were the top sells by the fund. The House also exited Hinduja Ventures.In the pharmaceuticals space the fund purchased Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Pfizer and Dr Reddy's Laboratories and introduced Granules India. However, it sold Glenmark Pharma, Lupin and Cipla and exited from Fulford (India).In the metals & mining pack, the fund bought Coal India, Tata Steel and Hindalco Industries and introduced Jindal Steel & Power. While, it sold Hindustan Zinc and Vedanta in the same pack and exited from National Aluminium Company and NMDC.In the banking and financial services space the fund sold IDFC, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Dewan Housing Finance Corporation and exited Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services . However it bought IndusInd Bank, Bank of Baroda and Bajaj Finance and added DCB Bank. However the house bought Cairn India, Indian Oil Corporation and GAIL India and introduced Petronet LNG.In the services space the house sold PTC India, Great Eastern Shipping Company and Container Corporation of India and exited Sterling Holiday Resorts (India).
