The Indian equity benchmarks, the Sensex and the Nifty closed flat after a volatile session. The Nifty struggled to hold the 22,000 mark despite opening above it. The Sensex closed 34.09 points down at 72,152, while the Nifty closed 1.1 points higher at 21,930.50. About 1,954 shares advanced, 1,314 shares declined, while 63 stocks remained unchanged.

One 97 Communications Ltd | CMP Rs 496 | Shares of Paytm zoomed 10 percent and were locked in the upper circuit in a much-needed relief to investors after falling around 42 percent in three straight sessions in the aftermath of RBI's curbs on its payments bank unit. Following this, brokerages sharply cut Paytm ratings and target prices. Jefferies cut the target price to Rs 500, while Macquarie cut it to Rs 650.

Trent Ltd | CMP Rs 3,607 | Shares of the apparel company rocketed 19 percent after the retail player reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 370.6 crore for the December quarter of FY24, rising 39.4 percent from Rs 154.81 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year.

Delta Corp Ltd | CMP Rs 151 | The counter surged 11 percent on reports that the government could soften its stance on the retro goods and services tax (GST) demand notices issued to online gaming companies.

Its net profit surged 106 percent on-year to Rs 17.5 crore, driven by strong demand during the festival and wedding seasons, while its revenue was up 22 percent to Rs 1,788.8 crore.

IEX Ltd | CMP Rs 145 | The counter fell slumped 5 percent after the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) ordered a shadow pilot on the market coupling of India's power exchanges. In a February 6 notice, CERC said that Grid India will develop the necessary software over the next two months to run a shadow pilot for market coupling of the three power exchanges.

EIH Ltd | CMP Rs 425 | Shares of the company rose 19.5 percent after the company which operates the Oberoi chain of hotels reported record earnings for the December quarter. The company's profit jumped 52 percent on-year to Rs 229.94 crore and total income increased to Rs 769.87 crore.

Canara Bank Ltd | CMP Rs 552 | Shares of the lender rose over 5 percent after the PSU bank announced its decision to consider a stock split. This will be the bank's first stock split and the board meeting is scheduled for February 26.

UPL Ltd | CMP Rs 477 | Shares of the company fell almost a percent lower after credit rating agency Moody's downgraded the agriculture solutions provider to Ba1 (subject to substantial credit risk). Moody's in a February 6 statement downgraded UPL to Ba1 from Baa3 and maintained the negative rating outlook on the agrochemical solutions segment.

Nzara Technologies | CMP Rs 884 | Shares of the gaming company gained over 2 percent after the company announced a 45 percent surge in net profit for the October-December quarter.The company reported a net profit of Rs 29.52 crore for the third quarter, driven by a robust performance in the e-sports vertical.
