On November 4, Domestic Institutional Investors (DII) net bought shares worth Rs 2936 crore. On the other hand Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) net sold shares worth Rs 4330 crore, provisional data from NSE showed.
DIIs bought Rs 12,450 crore worth of shares and sold shares worth Rs 9,514 crore. Meanwhile, FIIs purchased Rs 13,786 crore in shares and offloaded equities worth Rs 18,116 crore during the trading session.
In the year so far, FIIs have net sold shares worth Rs 2.58 lakh crore, while DIIs have bought Rs 5.28 lakh crore shares.
Market view
At the close, the Sensex fell by 1.2 percent or 942 points to 78782.24, while the Nifty dropped 1.27 percent or 309 points to 23995.35.
All indices, barring Nifty IT ended in the red.
