Promoter entity Indian Continent Investment has sold nearly a percent stake worth more than Rs 11,000 crore in telecom operator Bharti Airtel, via open market transactions on August 8.
Indian Continent Investment offloaded the said stake through two transactions, selling 3 crore shares at Rs 1,870.4 per share and another 3 crore shares at Rs 1,871.95 per share, the bulk deals data on the exchanges showed.
In total, the promoter entity sold 6 crore shares, equivalent to 0.98 percent of paid-up equity, worth Rs 11,227.05 crore in Bharti Airtel.
As a result, the stock saw sharp gap-down opening and closed at Rs 1,858.6, down 3.33 percent amid high volumes. In fact, the volumes were highest in a single session since May 16. Further, the stock, technically, dropped below the lower line of Bollinger bands with bearish candle formation.
Indian Continent Investment, in particular, held 2.47 percent stake in Bharti Airtel, and the total promoters shareholding was 51.25 percent as of June 2025.
Meanwhile, Zinka Logistics Solutions, a technology-driven logistics company operating under the brand name BlackBuck, was also in focus. Sands Capital Private Growth II has sold 10.68 lakh shares (0.6% stake) in the company at Rs 520.47 per share, valued at Rs 55.58 crore.
Sands Capital was holding 3.68 percent stake in Zinka as of June 2025. Despite this stake and the market weakness, the stock advanced 0.85 percent to finish at Rs 521.45, after a day of 7.88 percent correction.
The action was also seen in EPACK Durable and Centum Electronics shares on Friday, rising 1.57 percent to Rs 395.30, and climbing 0.64 percent to Rs 2,421.3, respectively.
Tata Mutual Fund has bought 15 lakh shares (1.56 percent stake) in EPACK Durable, the OEM and ODM manufacturer of living appliances, at Rs 390 per share, amounting to Rs 58.5 crore, however, Augusta Investments Zero Pte offloaded 38.5 lakh shares (4.01 percent stake) at Rs 391.02 per share, valued at Rs 150.5 crore.
Augusta Investments was holding 10.13 percent stake in EPACK as of June 2025.
Promoter Mallavarapu Venkata Apparao sold 6.6 lakh shares (equivalent to 4.5 percent stake) in Centum Electronics, the aerospace engineering company, at Rs 2,300.93 per share, amounting to Rs 153.2 crore.
However, of which, HDFC Mutual Fund and 3P India Equity Fund acquired 3.5 percent stake worth Rs 118.45 crore. HDFC Mutual Fund bought 2.15 lakh shares at Rs 2,300 per share, while 3P India Equity Fund 1, and 3P India Equity Fund 1M purchased 3 lakh shares at same price.
