Shares of Antony Waste Handling Cell jumped over 9 percent to hit an all-time high of Rs 620 per share on July 15 after it showcased a strong June-ended quarter (Q1FY25) business update.
In its Q1 business update, the company said that its core revenue jumped by 11 percent year-on-year (YoY) led by sales of refuse derived fuel (RDF) and power. They also reported remarkable plant efficiency in Q1FY25, with plant load factor up by 89 percent YoY.

The company also saw sale of RDF at 34,000 tonnes, up 23 percent YoY in Q1FY25. RDF refers to residual dry combustible fraction of municipal solid waste such as leather, paper, textile, rubber, non-recyclable plastic, among others. On the other hand, total municipal solid waste (MSW) handled climbed by 9 percent YoY in Q1FY25.
Antony Waste handled around 1.18 million tonnes of waste in Q1FY25, up 6 percent YoY after adjusting completion of the Mangalore C&T project and GNIDA biomining project last year. The Collection and Transportation (C&T) business segment handled around 0.47 million tonnes, reflecting a 4 percent growth in the June quarter compared to the same period last year.

Further, the waste processing division managed around 0.71 million tonnes. Apart from that, compost sales for the quarter amounted to approximately 6,000 tonnes, up from 2,800 tonnes in the same period last year.
Moving ahead, the management said that they aim to achieve significant milestones, including the launch of a construction and debris processing project in Mumbai and sustaining operational parameters at other operational sites.
So far this year, the stock of this waste management company has surged over 22 percent, as compared to 11 percent rise in the benchmark Nifty 50.
